How much should a New Hampshire small business spend on a website in 2026?

Most New Hampshire small businesses should expect to spend somewhere between $2,000 and $8,000 for a quality custom website in 2026. Simple sites land lower, more involved ones go higher, and ongoing care runs roughly $50 to $300 a month. That is the honest range. The rest of this explains what moves you inside it, so you can spend on the parts that matter.

The short version

A basic professional site is usually $500 to $2,000. The sweet spot for an established small business is $3,000 to $8,000, where you get real design, strategy, and a site built to turn visitors into customers. Sites with custom features or heavy content can run $15,000 and up. None of these include the ongoing cost of keeping the site fast, updated, and secure.

What actually changes the price

A few things move the number more than anything else. How many pages you need. Whether the design is custom or dropped into a template. Whether you hand over finished text and photos or need someone to create them. And any special features, like online booking, a store, or an integration with the software you already use. A five-page site with content ready to go is a very different job from a fifteen-page site that needs copywriting and photography.

The cheap options, and what you give up

You can build it yourself on a website builder for next to nothing, and for some businesses that is a fine place to start. The tradeoff is your time, a look that resembles every other template, and a ceiling on what the site can do. A rock-bottom $500 site usually means a rushed template with little thought about whether it actually brings you work. Cheap is only a deal if the site does its job.

What ongoing costs look like

A website is not a one-time purchase. Plan for hosting and a care plan that handles updates, backups, monitoring, and security. In 2026 that typically runs $50 to $300 a month, depending on how hands-on the care is and how complex the site is. This is the part most people skip until something breaks, and it is the part that quietly protects the investment you already made.

What diceSYTE charges

Our prices are on the pricing page, and they work differently from most of what’s above. The build, the hosting, the care and the next redesign are one plan, paid by the year or by the month on a twelve-month plan:

  • Site: $3,000 a year, or $275 a month.
  • Site + Content: $5,400 a year, or $495 a month.
  • Site + System: $9,000 a year, or $825 a month.

Work that doesn’t fit a plan is quoted, from $5,000. There’s no setup fee, and a full redesign comes every three years (every two on Site + System), so the site doesn’t age into the thing you’re replacing.

How to spend wisely

Put your money where it brings customers. A clean design that builds trust, fast load times, an obvious way to contact you, and content that answers what people actually ask. You do not need every feature on day one. You need a site that makes you look like the right choice and makes it easy to take the next step.

Questions, answered straight.

Is a $500 website worth it?
Sometimes, as a starting point. Just know that the low price usually comes from speed and templates, not from someone thinking hard about whether the site earns its keep.
Do I really have to pay monthly?
Something has to be paid every month or every year, because hosting and upkeep don't stop at launch. Most studios charge hosting plus an optional care plan. Ours is one plan, by the year or by the month, with the hosting, the care and the next redesign inside it.
